Winter flu surge is adding to immense pressures across the NHS
Hospital flu cases in England jumped 55% week-on-week, filling wards with acutely unwell - often older - patients who can’t be safely discharged, including those experiencing homelessness. The resulting bed blocking delays A&E flow and elective surgeries. Mildmay can provide safe step‑down, stabilisation, and rehabilitation to enable timely discharge and ease pressure across the NHS.

Discovering the Mildmay line
Mildmay’s legacy is celebrated on the newly named London Overground Mildmay line. A plaque at Kew Gardens highlights our journey from 19th-century cholera care to becoming Europe’s first HIV hospital, supported by Princess Diana’s visits.
