On Wednesday 22 April, Mildmay Hospital held a research sharing afternoon, bringing together clinical staff, patients, and guests to present and discuss recent work.

The was supported by Gilead Sciences and opened with a food tasting hosted by Raj Foods Ltd, attended by Neel Radia, National Chairman of the National Association of Care Catering, and Luke White, specialist dietitian from The Food Chain and co-chair of the British Dietetic Association HIV Care Group. Raj Foods will be working with Mildmay's specialist dietitian, Kattya Mayre-Chilton, to develop meals for patients with specific cultural and medical dietary needs, and the tasting was an opportunity to sample some of what that collaboration might offer.

Greer Kearney, our Speech and Language Therapist, presented on dysphagia advocacy and innovation, drawing on her attendance at the 2025 New York City Dysphagia Symposium. Greer shared new approaches to assessment and management emerging from the symposium, reflecting a growing clinical focus on more innovative, evidence-based ways of treating swallowing difficulties.

Divyan Moodley, Resident Doctor, presented on the use of commercial AI tools in HIV education, an increasingly relevant area as AI becomes more widely used in clinical contexts. Divyan is also developing an AI chatbot, supported by Gilead Sciences, to help people living with HIV navigate their condition, a practical application of the questions his presentation raised.

Louise Noronha, Principal Psychologist, presented on navigating homelessness through a neuropsychological lens, drawing on her clinical work with Mildmay's increasingly complex patient group.

The afternoon closed with a presentation from Sarah Edwards, HIV Standards Support Manager at Gilead Sciences, on identifying, assessing, and managing frailty in people living with HIV.

We are grateful to all the presenters and to Gilead Sciences for their support.
