An outstanding 98% of all Mildmay Hospital staff have completed their mandatory training for the year – a powerful reflection of the commitment, skill, and professionalism that define our teams.
Only a handful of new starters and those on leave remain, and we look forward to getting them up to speed soon.
We were pleased to welcome Farai Mabiza and Dr Richard Dune, supported by Lewis Normoyle from the Mandatory Training Group, to Mildmay for a highly interactive CSTF Statutory & Mandatory Training Refresher. The session was comprehensive and hands-on, filled with opportunities to reinforce best practice, refresh essential skills, and ensure full compliance with NHS and clinical standards.
What is Mandatory Training – and Why Does It Matter?
Mandatory training covers a wide range of essential topics that ensure staff are equipped to provide safe, effective, and legally compliant care. This includes everything from resuscitation, fire safety, manual handling, infection control, data protection, conflict resolution, equality and diversity, and safeguarding vulnerable adults and children. These areas of training are critical not only for meeting regulatory standards but for protecting both patients and staff and promoting a culture of safety, dignity, and respect throughout the hospital.
At Mildmay, we support people with complex health and social needs, so our staff must be confident and well-prepared in all areas of their work.
Supporting Our People, Strengthening Our Services
As a specialist hospital providing step-down care for people with complex HIV-related conditions, post-detox stabilisation, and support for people experiencing homelessness, our team must be prepared not only clinically but holistically. That means ongoing education in safeguarding, infection control, equality and diversity, and many other areas that underpin safe and dignified care.
This exceptionally high completion rate is a credit to our entire staff team and reflects our shared belief in doing things properly, consistently, and with integrity.
We are grateful to our training facilitators for delivering such dynamic sessions and to our staff for their continued dedication to learning and excellence.
At Mildmay Hospital, delivering high-quality, compassionate care goes hand in hand with clinical excellence and professional development.
