Trinity Sunday is a Christian feast dedicated to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity, the essence and love of God expressing itself in three persons: God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Trinity Sunday is celebrated in all the Western liturgical churches: Latin Catholic, Anglican, Lutheran, Presbyterian, United Church of Christ, and Methodist.
On this feast day, we are reminded that even if we fail miserably, we are invited to share in this Trinity of loving relationships.
Prayers for Trinity Sunday
Gathered at the Lord’s Table and having professed our faith in the Holy Trinity, we unite ourselves to our Loving God as we humbly ask for what is needed in our lives.
1. Let us pray for the Church and all Church Leaders in every nation of the world. We pray that, the Church may be a sign of unity, love and hope in the way we support and encourage one another.
Lord hear us: Lord graciously hear us.
2. Let us pray for the countries house Mildmay(s). May we learn how to unite and put our differences aside and build a better society where all are treated with respect and dignity. Lord hear us: Lord graciously hear us
3. May God continue to support those affected by the recent earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Eternal rest give to the thousands who died and left those living with shattered lives suffused with untold grief and fear.
Lord hear us: Lord graciously hear us.
4. We pray for those called to go out to the nations to teach and proclaim our God as the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. Grant them the Spirit of truth and strengthen them in the faith.
Lord hear us: Lord graciously hear us.
5. We pray for all those who fear for their lives, for the victims of violence and war, for those in poverty and for those weighed down by troubles and anxieties. We pray that we may reach out to others with hope and care.
Lord hear us: Lord graciously hear us.
6. Let us pray for all who are sick and those who are in hospital, especially our own patients and clients here at Mildmay. May we be strengthened in our journey, through life and through illness and weariness.
Lord hear us: Lord graciously hear us.
Now, let us pray for a few moments in silence for our own needs and the needs of those we love : Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end
Amen.
