The BHIVA Autumn Conference 2025 took place in London on Friday 28 November, bringing together clinicians, researchers, pharmacists, community activists and advocates from across the HIV sector.

As always, it was an invaluable opportunity to share the latest developments, reflect on global challenges, and strengthen the partnerships that drive better care.

This year’s programme focused sharply on the unprecedented disruption to global HIV funding. Speakers highlighted how declining external health assistance is affecting access to treatment, prevention programmes and community-led services - with serious implications for the most at-risk communities worldwide. Sessions also explored the impact of migration on UK HIV services, the opportunities and tensions in current political climates, and the global response to emerging scientific advances.

Mildmay at BHIVA

Mildmay was once again present throughout the conference, welcoming colleagues and partners at our stand.

Our Admissions Manager, Patricia, and Clinical Skills Charge Nurse, Kobi, were on hand to update delegates on Mildmay’s specialist services and share information (plus the traditional sweeties, pens and notebooks giveaways).

Their conversations with clinicians from across the UK reflected strong interest in Mildmay’s unique expertise in HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders, complex care, and support for people affected by homelessness.

This year, we were also joined by Charlotte, our International Programmes Funding Manager. She spent the day building connections and presenting our growing international work - especially our next chapter in Uganda.

Looking Ahead

The BHIVA Autumn Conference remains a vital moment each year for reflection, learning and collaboration. For Mildmay, it is also a chance to reconnect with colleagues who recognise the importance of our work — both in London and internationally.

We are grateful to everyone who visited our stand, shared insights, and continues to stand with us in delivering compassionate, specialist care for people living with HIV.
