Dietetics & Nutritional Sciences Student Placements
Mildmay Hospital offers dietetics and nutrition students the opportunity to undertake placements in one of London's most distinctive specialist settings. Our clinical work spans HIV rehabilitation, homelessness step-down care, and post-detoxification recovery, each pathway presenting real-world nutritional challenges not typically encountered in general hospital placements.
Students work alongside our specialist dietitian and the wider multidisciplinary team, contributing to projects that make a direct difference to patient care. Past projects have included auditing nutritional parameters, developing patient education resources, supporting sustainable menu development and assessing texture-modified diets against national guidelines.
Student placements
Mildmay Hospital hosts dietetics and nutrition students from UK universities for placements within our specialist HIV and complex rehabilitation services. Students gain hands-on experience in patient assessment, nutrition planning, and multidisciplinary care, while contributing to small projects that enhance both learning and service delivery.

International internships in partnership with NOVA Medical School
Since 2022, Mildmay has welcomed annual cohorts of final-year Nutritional Sciences students from NOVA Medical School in Lisbon.
