HIV Testing Week poster: "I test"

Today marks the start of National HIV Testing Week, an annual campaign to promote regular testing among the most affected populations in the UK.

At Mildmay, we have been at the forefront of HIV care for decades, and we know that the first step to "living life in all its fullness" is knowing your status.

Why Test Now?

Testing is the only way to know if you have HIV. If you have the virus, finding out early means you can start treatment sooner and stay healthy. People on effective HIV treatment can live long, healthy lives and cannot pass the virus on to others (U=U).

It’s Never Been Easier

Gone are the days of long waits at clinics being the only option. Testing is now:

  • Free: Available to everyone in the UK.

  • Quick: A simple finger-prick test is all it takes.

  • Private: You can order a test kit to your home in plain packaging.

How to Get Your Test

Whether you prefer to test at home or in person, there is an option that fits your life.

Mildmay’s Commitment

While the national campaign focuses on testing, Mildmay remains dedicated to those living with HIV who require specialist care and rehabilitation. We see the impact of late diagnosis every day in our wards; that is why we urge everyone, especially if you have had sex without a condom or have a new partner, to make testing a regular part of your health routine.

Testing is quick, easy, and it starts with you.

Help us work towards a future with zero new transmissions.
